Jenna Whitney completed for BA (honours) at Acadia University in 2001. She sought further education at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London (UK) where she completed a (research) PhD in 2006 and a DClinPsych (Doctorate of Clinical Psychology) in 2011.
Jenna’s training and experience has covered the assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health difficulties. She is particularly interested in working with individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, addictions, eating disorders, and difficulties with emotional regulation and relationships. She has expertise in the area of eating disorders as she worked within specialist adult eating disorder units (academically and clinically) within the UK for approximately 10 years.
Jenna has been trained in and uses evidence-based therapies, primarily cognitive behavioural therapy. She has also delivered dialectical behaviour therapy, cognitive remediation therapy, and cognitive analytic therapy to individual as well as skills-based interventions for families.
