Chantal Landry is a recent graduate from Queens University with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy.
Prior to pursuing her passion in Occupational Therapy, she completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology at Acadia University. This is where she discovered her strong desire to work in pediatric occupational therapy. She was an instructor in the Kinderskills program where she worked with preschool aged children to encourage various gross and fine motor movement activities to promote development. She was also a leader in the Sensory Motor Instructional Leadership Experience (SMILE) where she provided children with varying disabilities the opportunity to engage in physical activity to promote overall development. Chantal also has experience working in adult mental health through completion of an occupational therapy placement at the East Coast Forensic Psychiatric Hospital. Furthermore, Chantal has worked alongside Lisa Doner to gain a wealth of knowledge in the area of Ayres Sensory Integration approach to therapy.
Chantal brings a client-centered approach to therapy, where she encourages team collaboration involving the client, their families and other health professionals. She will work to identify occupational performance issues and develop appropriate intervention plans to improve quality of life through techniques such as sensory integration, and self-regulation.
